Leading up to their designated co-op program start date, CCTB students will initiate the application and interview process for a work placement. During this period, we collaborate with employers to assess their requirements and share job openings suitable for pairing with our students. The duration of the practical work experience varies depending on the specific CCTB program, ranging from 240 to 1,220 hours.
Employers are welcome to extend permanent positions to co-op students upon the completion of their program. For international students, it is important to review their work and study permit conditions. Moreover, extending their employment may require a Labour Market Impact Assessment.
CCTB offers extensive assistance throughout the hiring process to facilitate connections between employers and qualified candidates. Our services encompass job posting facilitation, sharing of resumes and portfolios and coordination of interviews. Our goal is to streamline the recruitment process and ensure its effectiveness.
When hiring a student or graduate from CCTB, there are typically minimal expenses involved. CCTB does not charge any recruitment fees. However, employers should factor in standard operational costs related to onboarding a new employee, including training and equipment provisions.
