Overview

The Canadian Hero Scholarship has been established to support members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community who are pursuing higher education at CCTB.

 Value

Eligible recipients will receive 10% off the final tuition rate in recognition of their service to Canada. Please note that this discount extends to the entire CAF community (additional information about who qualifies as a CAF community member can be found at cfmws.ca).

Effective period 

As of May 2023, this scholarship is open to members of the Canadian Armed Forces community.

How to apply

Refer to the attached form for application instructions. A copy of the members valid CF One Card must be submitted with the initial application to be considered for this offer.

Terms and conditions

  1. The recipient must begin their program before their offer for admission expires.

  2. The recipient must not change programs.

  3. The recipient must pay all fees (that are not covered by the scholarship) by their respective due dates.

  4. The recipient must maintain good academic standing and a full-time enrollment status.

Overview

The Sherryl Kintu Scholarship was established in tribute to and in recognition of the passions and contributions of Sherryl Kintu, a dedicated member of Global University Systems for nine years, who rose from the position of Executive Assistant to Director. Sadly, Sherryl passed away in April 2021. She was known for her creativity, ambition, trustworthiness and deep passion for everything she did. Applicants for this scholarship are expected to demonstrate and reflect these qualities.

The goals and objectives of this scholarship are guided by the ideas and wishes of Sherryl’s family and friends and are supported by the Executive CEO and Founder of Global University Systems. The ultimate aim of this scholarship is to support the success of deserving individuals in a way that aligns with Sherryl’s values.

Selected applicants will receive 100% off their full tuition for one of the following CCTB programs:

  • Business Administration with Co-op
  • Business Management with Co-op
  • Hospitality and Tourism Administration with Co-op
  • Hospitality and Tourism Management with Co-op
  • Digital Marketing with Co-op

Effective period 

From December 9, 2024, to January 31, 2025, this scholarship is open to female international applicants from financially disadvantaged backgrounds who wish to pursue one of the five listed co-op programs.

Terms and conditions

  1. To qualify for the scholarship, students must provide the required supporting documentation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  2. The full scholarship will be applied to the tuition fees of the eligible program, including books and materials fees.
  3. This scholarship is applicable only for on-campus studies, and recipients must have an approved and valid study permit.
  4. Two scholarships will be awarded. Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2025, to be considered.
  5. This scholarship is open to both domestic and international students.
  6. Recipients are responsible for covering all fees not included in the scholarship, such as housing, travel, health insurance, meals, transportation and other personal expenses.
  7. In assessing applications, the Sherryl Kintu Fund Board (SKFB) will evaluate:
    • The overall quality of the application, with particular emphasis on demonstrated passion, drive, creativity and ambition.
    • The apparent need for financial support.
    • The goals and progress expected as a result of receiving the scholarship.
  8. Scholarship recipients are expected to act as ambassadors for the Canadian College of Technology and Business, participating in outreach and alumni engagement initiatives in their home region after the scholarship is granted.
  9. Scholarships may be deferred for a maximum of one (1) intake from the original admission intake.
  10. Decisions made by the Sherryl Kintu Fund Board (SKFB) are final.
  11. The Canadian College of Technology and Business reserves the right to modify, cancel or limit this promotion without prior notice.
